This Privacy Policy describes how sscalculator.org (“we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information when you use our free retirement planning calculators. We built these tools to be useful without requiring you to share personal information, and we do not sell or broker any data about you.

1. No Accounts, No Registration

You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or identify yourself in any way to use any calculator on this site. We have no login system and collect no registration data.

2. Calculator Inputs Are Not Stored

Numbers you enter into our calculators — birth year, income, account balance, or any other value — are transmitted to our server solely to perform the calculation and are discarded immediately afterward. We do not log, store, or associate your inputs with any identifier. No calculation history is retained on our side.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like most web servers, ours automatically records standard request data when you visit a page: your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and the pages you view. These server logs are used for security and operational diagnostics and are routinely deleted. They are not used to build profiles of individual visitors.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for the purposes described below. You can control cookies through your browser settings; note that disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and which features are used most. GA4 sets cookies in your browser to distinguish visits. The data collected is aggregated and does not personally identify you. Google’s data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We may use advertising platforms — including but not limited to Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) — to show our tools to people who have previously visited this site (remarketing) and to find new visitors with similar interests. Our site contains links to external websites (SSA.gov, IRS.gov, and others). Those sites operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.

8. Data Retention

Because we do not store calculator inputs or create user profiles, there is no individual data to delete on request. Server log data is retained for a limited period for operational purposes and then purged. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics per Google’s default retention settings, which you can reset or delete through the opt-out methods described above.

9. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected about them, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of their personal information. As stated above, we do not sell personal information. If you have questions about your rights under California law, please refer to the opt-out tools described in Section 4 above.

10. Visitors from the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are located in the EEA or UK, Google Analytics processes analytics data on our behalf under a data processing agreement with Google. Analytics cookies are set based on our legitimate interest in understanding site performance; advertising cookies require your consent where required by applicable law. For requests related to your rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection), you may use the opt-out tools described in Section 4 or contact Google directly regarding Analytics data.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our tools are intended for adults planning for retirement. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
